Do you know where and when to shop in Lisbon, Madrid and Barcelona? Although stores in those cities are not as cheap as the outlets in America, it’s possible to make good purchases and enjoy deals, depending on the month of year. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Oh, before going on shopping, just pay attention to the local custom of taking a siesta. Many street stores, especially in Spain, close at lunchtime, opening from 10am to 2pm and from 4:30pm/5pm to 8pm. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  1. Lisbon ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Avoid stores in the city center, as in places full of tourists the prices are not the most attractive. Did you see any brands you didn’t know? Is the store full of Portuguese people? If the answer is “yes”, enter! In these stores you will find great quality pieces at a fair price. Also, visit the outlets around Lisbon: Strada Outlet and Freeport Lisboa Fashion Outlet. This last one is bigger, and offers a discount on top of the outlet price every last Thursday of the month.

The best time to go is during the winter sales (from January to February) or summer sales (from June to September).

  1. Madrid

The best place is Salesas Village, with its multi-brand retailers, in a place where shopping and fun can mix. It’s also possible to find very good apparel on the same street (Calle Piamonte) and on Gran Vía, in Spanish stores and other international brands.

The best time to go is during the the winter sales (January to March) or summer sales (July to September).

  1. Barcelona

Four great options are the streets Carrer Pelai, La Rambla and Passeig de Gràcia, and the El Corte Inglès shopping mall, in Plaça Catalunya. You will find famous Spanish and international brands in clothes and shoes, as well as walking through very pleasant places!

The best time to go is during the winter sales (January to March) or summer sales (July to August).
